If you own a home, you likely have a lot of tools to help maintain it. However, are you sure you have the right tools? While everyone needs things like screwdrivers and hammers, not all homeowners realize the benefit of having other tools in their arsenal. Here are some tools that no homeowner should ever be without.

Extendable Ladder

Because you must be able to reach all parts of your home, whether high or low, you should invest in a ladder. If you’ve been relying on a step ladder to reach high spaces, you are likely finding that you cannot do everything you need to with just that.

To help save space in your garage, you should consider purchasing an extendable ladder. It’s even better if you get an extendable ladder that can also be turned into a step ladder. That way, you have the best tool for every scenario. You can extend the ladder all the way to climb onto the roof or use it as a step ladder to help cut the creases when you’re painting the ceiling. Then, when you’re done with it, you can close it up against the wall in the garage where it isn’t in anyone’s way.

Wagon

One thing is certain when you own a home. You’ll never have a shortage of projects you want to get done. Whether you’re moving firewood or hauling bags of topsoil to the garden, you don’t want to make a million trips back and forth. You’ll quickly exhaust yourself, and the project will take much longer to complete than you’d like.

Instead of using brute strength, invest in a multi-purpose wagon. Wagons are stronger and more reliable than wheelbarrows because they have four wheels with heavy duty casters that can easily go over uneven ground and deal with heavy loads. They often also come with the option to lift the bucket to dump what you are carrying, which can be a lifesaver when moving rocks and loose soil.

Leaf Blower

A leaf blower might seem like an odd choice for a homeowner must-have, but it’s a versatile tool that can save you a tremendous amount of time. Instead of spending your precious weekends sweeping the driveway and sidewalks, blow them off. You’ll find that you’re done in a matter of minutes.

Furthermore, leaf blowers are excellent for cleaning off roofs and emptying dirty gutters. You no longer have to stand on a ladder and use your hands to fish everything out of the gutter. You can either blow the gutters clean by standing on the roof or get a tool that extends from your blower up to the gutters so that you can stay on the ground.
